CHOLMONDELEY FIREWORKS CONCERT
Finish off a wonderful day at the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power and stay to relax and enjoy Cholmondeley Castle’s annual Fireworks Concert, which this year will be a Military Tattoo. The Manchester Camerata are returning to perform during the evening which culminates, as ever, in a spectacular fireworks display, to Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture this year accompanied by cannon fire. The programme will reflect this year’s military theme with music ranging from the following memorable films; Ride of the Valkyries (Wagner), 633 Squadron (Ron Goodwin), Star Wars (John Williams) and Dambusters (Eric Coates).
Bring a chair and a picnic (or buy on site), to enjoy on the beautiful castle gardens. Sit on the Castle Lawn and sing along to all the favourite sea shanty’s, Rule Britannia, Land of Hope and Glory and others. You could also take a moment to explore the stunning Temple Garden created by Lady Cholmondeley.
The concert kicks off at 6.30pm with a military marching band and will be followed by the Mossley Brass Band. The main concert will begin with the Manchester Camerata Orchestra at 8.00pm. The concert ends at approximately 10.45pm, following the spectacular fireworks display and firing of the 105mm Field Guns by the Royal Artilary.
This year the principal charity will be The Army Benevolent Fund.
