The Cholmondeley Estate, set in the heart of Cheshire, has been selected by BBC Radio 2�s Chris Evans as the venue for CarFest North.  The decision, announced this morning on Chris Evans� Breakfast Show, builds on the estate�s strong connections with motor sports and provides the ideal setting for the �perfect family festival�.

CarFest North is raising money for BBC Children in Need (registered charity number 802052 England & Wales, SC039557 Scotland) and will take place over the weekend 8th, 9th September.  It will feature a large collection of modern and classic supercars, top-quality bands � with Texas headlining on Saturday and Razorlight on Sunday � as well as a food festival and fun for all the family.

CarFest North will be the second large motoring extravaganza to take place in the grounds of the Cholmondeley Castle this year � the first being the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power which runs from the 15-17 June.
