CHOLMONDELEY PAGEANT OF POWER ANNOUNCES ITALIAN THEME FOR 2014

The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power returns for its seventh year on 13^th – 15^th June 2014, featuring more iconic vehicles than ever as the festival puts on an Italian theme.

With legendary high-end manufacturer Maserati celebrating their centenary this year as well as a multitude of classic vehicles from the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini, the Pageant will host a number of exciting activities with a Mediterranean flavour.

Maserati Marketing Manager, James Cowan commented:

“We’re immensely proud to be celebrating our centenary in 2014, and look forward to having presence at the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power this year. We have a line of classic Italian vehicles due to be announced at the Pageant, and we’re very much looking forward to celebrating our Italian heritage in the beautiful grounds of Cholmondeley Castle in June.”  

The 1951 Ferrari 212 F1 Monoposto has recently been unveiled as one of the unique vehicles to attend the event. Owned by collector Peter Jerram, this rare old Ferrari endured many years of hard racing in the Americas during the 1950s. In 1972, it was discovered in a Montevideo garage and has since been brought back to life to be enjoyed at historic events.

Other Italian cars confirmed at Cholmondeley Castle this year are the rare 1964 Iso Rivolta GT which competes regularly in the HSCC, and the 1974 Osella Abarth which has competed in French endurance racing and European hillclimbs.

James Hall, event director at Cholmondeley Pageant of Power, said:

“This year at the Pageant we’re celebrating the speed, style and beauty of Italy with all the best Italian cars from Lamborghini to Maserati. 2014 is set to be even bigger and better with all the big names plus our usual exciting array of rally rides, superbikes, powerboats and all kinds of daredevil aerial sports and displays.”

The Pageant also coincides with England taking on Italy in the football World Cup on Saturday 14^th June at 11pm, and a giant screen will be set up in the grounds of Cholmondeley Castle for festival-goers to watch the game.
