The Bloodhound Supersonic Car
A full scale model of the 1,000 mph BLOODHOUND Supersonic Car will be on display at the Pageant accompanied by team director and former land speed record holder Richard Noble. Located at heart of the event in our giant orange Aireshelta, the show car will sit alongside the Falcon Hybrid Rocket that the team successfully test fired last October. We will also have a host of interactive exhibits that bring the science and technology behind the World Land Speed Record attempt to life.
The jet and rocket powered car is currently in build and will begin low speed testing up to 200 mph in 2014. The team will then head to South Africa where they will run the car on the Hakskeen Pan, a dried out lake bed in the Northern Cape. High speed runs will take place in 2014 and 2015.
