This is the first GT3 built in 2012, it has a LS3 Chevrolet 450 BHP engine.
The Itala was discovered by Group Captain Rexford-Welch lying derelict on a farm in Oxfordshire in the late 40's whilst on a Rally in his Lagonda. After a lengthy restoration project The Itala was eventually completed and used on many events until the 1960's when sadly it was laid to rest again for over 40 years.
The Itala was fully restored by 'David Ayre Vintage Restorations' for this event and since then has travelled extensively worldwide.
Powered by a 24Ltr W-12 aircraft engine from the bi-plane era of the 1920's. The Napier Lion is the only engine to hold land, sea and air world speed records at the same time. Napier Lion Motors powered the first aircraft to fly non-stop to Australia from England. The Napier Bentley will do a standing 1/4 mile in 13 1/2 seconds at 126mph. It will also change TV channels if revved nearby!
For supercar fanatics Maserati will campaign the sportiest model in their fleet, the 2014 Gran Turismo MC Stradale which takes its inspiration from the racing version which competed in the Maserati Trofeo Championship.
The 1951 Ferrari 212 F1 Monoposto has recently been unveiled as one of the unique vehicles to attend the event. Owned by Peter Jerram, this rare old Ferrari endured many years of hard racing in the Americas during the 1950's. It was rediscovered in a Montevideo garage in 1972 and will be on track at Cholmondeley restored to its former glory.
For the rally enthusiasts don't miss the 1992 Lancia Delta Intergrale driven by Justin Law, these Lancias were one of the most successful rally cars of all times dominating the World Rally Championships in 1989. The car was campaigned by Alberto Pirelli in the 1993 Italian Championship.
