F2 Powerboats
The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power will once again play host to the thrills and excitement of circuit powerboat racing, The F2 boats are capable of 125mph with turns that pull 4G! These boats are for the more experienced driver as they can be a handful. The exhilaration that the drivers get from this class is amazing.
Stars of the Future!
The stars of the future are here in their fabulous junior boats. These are the JT250 and GT15 boats with drivers from 9 to 16 (internationals 10-16). Despite the small engines these boats can reach speeds in excess of 35mph, which you then add to water its pretty fast. Ideal for a young person to drive!
Powerboat Racing
Come and meet the drivers at Cholmondeley, many of whom are current or past British Champions and Speed Record holders. Look out for names such as P750 European Champions Naomi Williams, Bligh Julius, Sean Fisher and Grant Pittard, S850 World Champions Mark Williams and Scott Curtis, plus International F4S driver Matt Palfreyman and International F1 drivers Malcolm Goodman and Ted Walsh plus many more. They will tell you all about powerboat racing, what it costs and where you can race as well as where your nearest club is. You can also book a junior training session at a discounted price. Circuit powerboat racing is regulated in the UK by The Royal Yachting Association whose patron is HRH the Princess Royal; its activities are supported by the Circuit Racing committee. Unlike its sister "Sport Offshore", circuit racing takes place on inshore waters throughout the UK. As you will see the action is perfect for spectators with the boats battling for glory, it’s close, competitive and fast! Visit the RYA stand and find out how you can get a piece of the action and just maybe it will be you too in 2012 wowing the audience at Cholmondeley.
